Prince Heritier Kouyate Kone

What Are You Most Passionate About?
My career! Music, Dance, Guitar, Traditional Guinean Instruments… and now recording and mixing music!
Who is someone who inspires you?
I am the son of artists, and come from a lineage of artists (My father ‘Kone’) and of Griots/Djelis (My mother ‘Kouyate’). I started dancing intensively at the age of 5, I started singing at the age of 8, and to play instruments when I was 10. I literally invest all of my time in these activities.
What Is Your Favorite Sound?
Motivational speeches from great philosophers.
What Project would a laptop help you with?
I first started singing Reggae and then quickly moved to Dance Hall and Rap. Now, I am entirely immersed in the beautiful and legendary music of the Manding, a genre of music that is very respected all over Africa, and sadly now, is disappearing.
Several years ago, I did some work for my uncle and was compensated with a recording quality microphone, audio interface, set of speakers and keyboard. For years I had been dreaming of owning and managing my own studio, and now, all that was missing was the computer!
How Would A Laptop Help You?
With a computer, I have been spending at least 5 hours a day learning the software (FL Studio and Cubase). I have 2 coaches who work in this business full time who are helping me learn how to edit and mix music.Once I am ready, I will open my studio and start to make money, which will help to sustain my family… my parents, grandparents and siblings.
