What Project Would A Laptop Help You With?
The Woontanara Aid Sewing School
Short Description Of Project
Our vision is to empower people with disabilities to climb the ladder out of poverty through learning a marketable skill that will allow them to leave their dangerous lives of begging behind.
We started with one sewing machine, five students and one teacher. Now it is 2014 and we just celebrated the Grand Opening of our 623 sq ft facility that is home to our sewing school, storefront and outreach program! We currently train over 50 students and our facility is open to adults who have mastered their art of sewing but cannot afford a machine. Our Sewing School was established with the goal of offering an alternative to people with disabilities, who would otherwise be begging in the streets.
How Would A Laptop Help You?
A laptop would be a huge help. In order to measure our progress it is imperative that our US lead, Daria, receives monthly reports and that the staff can communicate about progress and what we need while she is not in Guinea. Right now we have no way to communicate.
