What Are You Most Passionate About?
I’m very passionate about the future of the growing youth population in Nigeria.
Who Is Your Hero? Why?
My Mom! She raised me and my older brother in Nigeria as a single mother after returning from college in the US. She struggled to make ends meet as a tax accountant and small business owner while raising two boys, but she always instilled within us positive values and morals, like helping others. In the past ten years she lost four of her sisters and she’s taken it upon herself to care for their children. She’s the strongest woman I know!
What Is Your Favorite Sound?
The Blues. It calms me down and helps me think.
What Project Would a Laptop Help You With?
We need laptops for our Student Innovators Hardware Scholarships program. Students apply through our mobile app and we pick students with compelling stories and backgrounds.
How Would A Laptop Help You?
Myself along with my two friends created ScholarX, an Edtech startup social enterprise that aims to empower the growing youth population of Nigeria. Through the previously mentioned Student Innovators Hardware Scholarships program, promising students will finally have access to technology crucial to growing in this new African frontier. Nigeria alone has a population of about 180 million so we need as many trained people as possible to quell the high unemployment and poverty rates.
What do you love about this project?
I love being able to help my students overcome obstacles and realize their dreams.
What Languages do you speak?
English and Yoruba.
Given a choice, would you prefer a Mac or PC?
Either.
