Nothing like waking up to the sound of loud construction equipment. The recurring epidemic of the smell of burnt rubber in my apartment has now reached a peak as the guys the workers tear up the road trying to figure out what in our pipes is causing this. I suspect when I come home tonight the odor will transition into “wet dog” like the last time this happened.

I have some good news to share from my day at the Apple Store, Susie’s donation isn’t as dire of a situation as we thought.
The problems I was having during my install could be traced back to my USB installer, the battery is actually fine and the only parts that need to be replaced are the Keyboard and Trackpad, something that I will do as soon as I’m infront of my own computer again (probably by the time you read this).
Barring these two replacement parts I completed all of the other necessary work on this laptop. Once I install the parts this rather nice laptop will be ready for its new home. (Early 2015 Macbook Pro, 128GB SSD, 8 gigs of RAM and a good i5 processor)
The iPad I had brought in addition didn’t fare so well. Repeated external diagnostics failed to activate, meaning this iPad is what we in the biz call “bricked”: as in, “it is now as useful as a brick”.
In reply to your request for the video thumbnail files, I’m afraid I don’t have the original PSD files anymore. In my haste I deleted them. I can send you either the PNG I put up on the site, or I can make a new thumbnail template for you to use. The method I used to create the video thumbnails is easily repeated.
While I wait for Delta’s account number I’m looking into dedicated freight shipping that serves India, but this is proving to be an elusive task still.
