Mahatma Gandhi. He was a man who proved to the world that a fight can be bloodless. He fought against violence and discrimination and was an activist for women’s empowerment.

What Project Would A Laptop Help You With?

During my college days, 30 of us got together to start a group called “GYDCO” which stands for Global Youth Development and Conservation Organization. Our goal is to equip people with technical knowledge. We have about 1000 active members now from different universities spread across North and Central India. We teach people how to use a computer with special attention given to internet use and public service information. For example, most recently we have begun a campaign visiting each village and checking online the amount of rations allotted to each household. It has become apparent that in many places the shopkeepers have been undercutting sugar supplies to most citizens due to their ignorance.

What do you love about this project?

The fact that it makes people aware of their basic rights. Everything in our state of Uttar Pradesh is available online and by teaching others the importance of accessing this information we are able to help them live better lives.
